The 250 Homes Committee works in partnership with a variety of landlords to facilitate the attainment of safe and affordable apartments in HRM for people who have experienced mental illness.
Elizabeth Cleary, RN, CPMHN
Elizabeth has worked for over 30 years as a mental health nurse; the last ten at New Beginnings Dartmouth, and the last four specifically in the area of housing. She finds her current position especially rewarding because it allows her to work with many people affected by mental illness, their families, and other supporters – and linking them up with private landlords. Elizabeth first became interested in housing for folks who live with mental illnesses in the late 1970s, when she worked for over two years with Dartmouth Community Connect.
