The New Year

2013 is almost upon us.  My wife and I had a wonderful 2012.  I have accomplished a lot in the year gone by.  I have been pondering on what I would like to accomplish in 2013.  I have come up with some ideas of what I would like to accomplish.

First of all I am going to learn how to tie my own flies for fly fishing. I am going to specialize in tying streamers and streamer fishing.  The big trout and smallmouth bass like hearty meaty meals.  Streamers imitate hearty meaty meals better than other flies.  When it comes to fly fishing I am just a beginner but I intend to learn the craft.

Another thing I would like to accomplish is to focus more on my writing.  I want to do more writing on my blogs, write papers to print off and share with people, and make an attempt to break into the free lance writing field.  Some day I would to write a book and successfully get it published.  Writing is my gift and I love the act of writing itself.  I have a deep passion for writing.  Up to this point in my life I have mostly written about mental illness, addiction, and alcoholism.  I would like to branch out and write about other subjects as well.

For extra fun and relaxation I will spend a fair amount of time playing my computer games and x-box.  My favorite games are the air war games.  I can play those games for a long period of time between smokes.

My new years resolution is to cut back on my smoking.  I am not going to try to quit abruptly but slowly cut back until I get to the point when I don't have to smoke.  My psychiatrist told me it is impossible to quit abruptly but if I slowly cut back over a very long period of time I just might pull off quiting.  He thinks that is the only way for me to quit.  It is not going to be easy but the good things in life take a lot of hard work and determination.  I think I am up to the fight and a fight it will be.

I have plans for 2013 and I believe that "if we fail to plan we plan to fail."  I think that the reason everything has to all planned out to a tee and how to carry out the plan perfectly is the result of a symptom of my Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.  I believe there is no harm in that but it is a good thing to have everything all planned out.  It gives me something to look forward to and goals and objectives to work on in my life.  My plan is my map book for life.  It gives me a map to follow in life that will bring me to my destination in life which will never be accomplished until I leave this world.

I sincerely hope that all my readers will have a wonderful 2013 and will have a successful recovery this year.  Have faith, hope, and courage recovery is truly possible.
