An Interactive Presentation on Mindfulness by Dr. David Whitehorn

Dr. David Whitehorn has a Ph.D. in neurophysiology from the University of Washington and a Master of Science in Nursing from Yale University.  He has worked as a clinical nurse specialist at the Nova Scotia Early Psychosis Program, and presently acts as a consultant on early psychosis at Dalhousie University’s Department of Psychiatry.  He also chairs the Shambhala Working Group on Aging.  A long time Shambhala practitioner and teacher, Dr. Whitehorn sees the importance of meditation, mindfulness and awareness in healing and staying well, and in living a life that is helpful to others.  His positive outlook on healing from mental illness promises to be informative and uplifting.

The From Recovery to Discovery Peer Support Group is organized as a partnership between the Schizophrenia Society of Nova Scotia and the Healthy Minds Cooperative.
