Strengthening Families Together
Do you have a relative or friend with a serious mental illness?
Would you like to learn more about his or her illness?
Delivered by family members who have direct experience with the psychiatric illness of a loved one, and enhanced by invited speakers with topical expertise, Strengthening Families Togetheris a Canadian-based educational program for families and friends which provides information, skill-building, and support.
You will learn about:
· Facts about psychosis
· Early intervention and recovery
· Treatments and supports
· Coping with challenges of daily living
· Navigating the mental health system
· The importance of taking care of yourself, too
In partnership with Cole Harbour / Eastern HRM Community Mental Health, the HRM Chapter of the Schizophrenia Society of Nova Scotia will deliver an eight-week session of Strengthening Families Together beginning at 6:30 pm on Thursday, February 3rd, 2011. The location isCole Harbour / Eastern HRM Community Mental Health ,Cole Harbour Place, 51 Forest Hills Parkway, Dartmouth. Each weekly meeting lasts for two hours.
